# Slack and Microsoft Teams

> Connect the @airhug staff assistant to Slack or Microsoft Teams, link each teammate, and choose where notifications post.

The staff assistant is available in Slack and Microsoft Teams as `@airhug`. Your team asks it about the workspace, and it follows up on tasks and paperwork. See [staff assistant](https://docs.airhug.ai/product/staff-agent.md) for what it can do.

## Connect it (owner or admin)

### Slack

1. Open **Settings → Integrations**.
2. Choose **Add to Slack** and allow the app in Slack. You return to Settings showing "Slack is connected".

### Microsoft Teams

1. Open **Settings → Integrations** and choose **Get pairing code**.
2. In Teams, open a chat with Airhug and send `connect ABCD-EFGH`, using your code.

> [!NOTE]
> **HIPAA workspaces** are shown a BAA warning first, every time you connect. Read it. Do not put patient information into a chat app your organization has not covered under its own agreement.

## Link each teammate

1. Mention `@airhug` in Slack or Teams. The first time, it privately sends a one-time link.
2. Open the link while signed in to Airhug and confirm.

From then on the assistant acts with **exactly that person's Airhug access**. Using it requires the `settings.manage` permission, like the Agent in the console. See [team and roles](https://docs.airhug.ai/setup/team-and-roles.md).

## Notifications

An owner or admin says `@airhug notify here` in a channel to have notifications post there. They cover paperwork submitted, new people, and calls the AI answered. Fine-tune or remove them in **Settings**.

## Disconnect

Choose **Disconnect** in Settings. This revokes the Slack bot token and deletes the links, threads and notification targets. Deleting the workspace does the same.

## Checks

- **Settings → Integrations** shows Slack as connected.
- A DM to `@airhug` returns the private link, and after you link, answers "Who still owes paperwork?"
- `@airhug notify here` in a channel, then a new person added, posts within about a minute.
