# The setup flow

> Every screen in Airhug's first-time setup, in order, with what each one asks for and what you can skip.

Setup is one guided flow at `app.airhug.ai/onboarding`. It saves as you go, so you can stop and continue later, including from a different computer. Setup only asks about the features you choose on the third screen.

## Steps in order

Steps 5 and 8 to 11 (website, hours, services, common questions, business details) and steps 14 to 17 (number, recording, voice, who answers first) appear only if you chose **Answering service**. If you only chose documentation or compliance, setup skips them and you can add the answering service later.

## Number step, briefly

The number screen offers three paths. Full detail is in [phone numbers](https://docs.airhug.ai/channels/phone-numbers.md).

- **Get a new number.** Pick one near your customers. It is live in about a minute.
- **Forward my existing number.** You keep your number and carrier. Airhug gives you a number that your unanswered calls forward to. Callers never see it.
- **Move my number here.** Airhug becomes your carrier. Moving takes 1 to 4 weeks. Until then you get a temporary number and your current number forwards to it, so you are live today.

If your business details are not complete, the screen says your number comes later. Finish **Settings → Messaging** when you are ready, then choose a number.

## After setup

- Everything you chose during setup lives under **Settings**. You can change it any time.
