# Team and roles

## Invite teammates

Invite people during setup (**Invite teammates**) or later from the **Team** page. Enter an email address. Each person receives a secure invitation link, opens it, and signs in with email or Google. You can invite several people at once.

## Admins and members

- **Admins** have every permission. That cannot be changed.
- **Members** get only what their role grants.

Manage this under **Settings → Roles and access**.

## Roles

A role is a named set of permissions. Create as many roles as you need, for example Front desk, Clinician or Bookkeeper.

For each permission group (calls, people, documents, calendar, and so on) you tick which actions the role may take. For client-related permissions you also choose the **scope**:

- **Every client.** The role reaches all of your clients. This is the default.
- **Assigned clients only.** The role sees only the clients assigned to that teammate.

Click the scope control next to a permission to switch it. The tooltip says which one is active.

You can disable a role without deleting it. Members with a disabled role lose the role's permissions until it is active again.

## Document approvals

Under **Settings → Roles and access → Document approvals**, choose who may approve a document someone submitted. The option **Block people from approving their own documents** stops a teammate from approving something they submitted themselves.

## The staff assistant follows the same rules

When a teammate uses the [staff assistant](https://docs.airhug.ai/product/staff-agent.md) in the app, Slack or Teams, it acts with exactly that person's access, no more.

## Checks

- A new teammate can open the invitation, sign in, and see only the pages their role allows.
- A member with **Assigned clients only** cannot open a client who is not assigned to them.
