Airhug documentation
How to set up and run Airhug, the AI front office that answers your phone, texts, email and website chat. Written for business owners and for AI agents.
Airhug is an AI front office for a business. It answers phone calls, texts, email and website chat in your business's voice, books appointments, takes messages, and puts everything in one inbox. Paid plans add paperwork, compliance tracking, team training and an AI staff assistant.
These docs cover what you need to do to make Airhug work, in the order you need to do it.
Start here#
- Setting up for the first time? Follow the quickstart. Most businesses are answering calls the same day.
- Want the vocabulary first? Read core concepts: workspace, line, channel, token, HIPAA compliance.
- Are you an AI agent, or setting Airhug up with one? Read using these docs with AI agents. Every page here is also plain Markdown at
/<page>.md, and there is an MCP server at/mcp.
The four things every workspace sets up#
| You want | Read |
|---|---|
| Calls answered on your business number | Phone numbers and call forwarding |
| Email answered from your own domain | Connect your email domain |
| A chat bubble on your website | Website chat |
| Texts answered | Texting and carrier registration |
Plans, tokens and billing#
Two plans, Starter and Business, each with a healthcare price that includes HIPAA compliance. Every reply the AI sends, on any channel, spends AI tokens from a monthly allowance.
- Plans and prices
- AI tokens: what spends them and what happens at zero
- Trial, payments and changing plans
If something is not working#
Start with troubleshooting. It lists symptoms and fixes for phone, email, chat and texting. Feature status says what is fully available, what is limited, and what is coming.
Ask instead of searching#
Press <kbd>⌘K</kbd> to search, or choose Ask AI at the top of any page. The assistant answers only from these docs and links the pages it used.
